Also, it's worth looking at the real dollar cost of a 1% tax increase between a $249,999 income and a $250,000 income (I would assume Obama's plan increases it more than 1%). That extra $1 in income would cost you $2500 in taxes. Even to a moderately wealthy person, $2500 is nothing to sneeze at.
